Some Say I've Got Ramblin' In My Blood

We made our first big drive through the country a few days ago.
Unfortunately, we were traveling to Matt's Great Grandmother's funeral.
She was 103!! What a long, beautiful life she must have had.
I never got the chance to meet her, but have heard that
she was a very sweet lady :)

It was a quick, two day trip and was mostly spent in the car.
There was a lot of beautiful scenery on the drive,
and I tried to capture a bit of it on my phone!
Seth was a trooper and only really made a fuss
when he was tired and just wanted to be in his crib.
For the most part, he put on a brave face and was great.

The drive really was a blast. Loading up the car
and traveling in a van with Matt, his parents,
and two brothers reminded me of the days when my
family would drive from Illinois to California
and visit family.

I will always kind of love long haul drives.

The trip has made me so excited for some
upcoming summer trips. Also my friend, Genni,
arrived late last night from Chicago!!
I'm so excited to share this beautiful
country with her :)

Seven Days A Week

Here are some snapshots from this week.
It's been a slow, quiet one.
The weather is only getting warmer and warmer
here in New Zealand. Hopefully that means
more trips to the beach!
For now, I'll just enjoy the amount of
time I get to spend with my sweet boy :)

(a standing boy, alphabet flashcards, frankie magazine & coffee,
lavender, homemade baby food ingredients.)

Happy Thanksgiving to all my family & friends
back home in the states!

Who Shot Rock & Roll

On Saturday, we took a trip into the
city to the Auckland Art Gallery to see
a photography exhibit. It was pretty incredible.
My favorite part was the wall dedicated to Bob Dylan.
We may have stopped by Little & Friday to get
some donuts afterward :)

This place is easily a new favorite of mine!

Clean, White Love

The past few days have been sick days
for baby boy. I can't complain when all he wants
is extra cuddles. If he's sitting across the room from
me, he'll crawl over to me so fast and tug at my pant
leg until I pick him up. I had to capture this sweet moment.

Oh, Seth. Could you be any cuter?
I'm biased, I know, but that face. come on.
I think we will venture out into the city today.
We are going to do some Christmas shopping!

Little & Friday

I've been terrible at taking my camera
with me lately. This weekend, I stopped by
a pop-up shop downtown. There was coffee from
Supreme (favorite) and treats from Little & Friday.

Can I just say that they are the best donuts I've ever
tasted? I'm not really a huge fan of donuts,
but I am now a huge fan of these.
I still need to stop by the actual cafe in Newmarket.
Hopefully I'll make it there this weekend.

I think I may have to pick up their recipe
book before I leave New Zealand.
I need these sweet treats back home!

Weekend by the Sea

We spent this past weekend in a cottage by the sea.
Waking up near the ocean is probably one of my favorite things.
I love combing the beach for firewood, dipping my feet in
the water, and having bonfires on the beach.

Tim, his family, and Christen came over last night
and lit off some fireworks. There is nothing more
magical than fireworks on the beach.
It was Seth's first time at the ocean.
We took a lot of photos, of course ;)

I want to go back already!
Now, I'm so ready for summer :)

You and I Misbehaving

Christen and I had a lovely afternoon together.
We drove up to the summit of Mount Eden and snapped
some photos of Auckland city.
Then, we went to one of my favorite cafes,
Circus Circus for dinner, dessert, and coffee.
Cafes seem to be our favorite way to pass the time!

This may be my new favorite item of clothing.
It's one of those throw-it-on-and-go kind of outfits.
My Mom sent us birthday presents & this
romper was one of them!

Here is a track that will always remind
me of days like this, spent with my twin :)
